Deductions and Score Calculation
The CDL Suite Smart Applicant Score™ begins with a starting score of 10.0. Deductions are then applied based on the Scoring Factors identified within the application. The final score provides recruiters with a quick, objective assessment of the application's quality and completeness. Smart Applicant Scores are calculated automatically and consistently for every application using the same methodology.
How Smart Applicant Scores Are Calculated
Every application begins with a score of 10.0. Applicable deductions are then subtracted based on the applicant's responses and reported history. The minimum score an application can receive is 1.0. If total deductions exceed 9.0 points, the score will stop at 1.0. Applicant Scores are never displayed below 1.0.
Deduction Schedule
Point deductions are made based on objective responses the applicant provides as follows.
Deductions are not intended to be punitive. Instead, deductions help quantify objective information already contained within the application.
For example, an applicant with substantial driving experience may receive no experience-related deduction. An applicant with unexplained employment history may receive deductions for Blank Months. An applicant with recent accidents or traffic convictions may receive deductions related to those factors.
The Smart Applicant Score summarizes those objective characteristics into a single, easy-to-understand score.
