Ban the Box
The Ban the Box law requires employers to remove the check box on hiring applications that asks about an applicant’s criminal record. Its purpose is to enable ex-offenders to display their qualifications in the hiring process before being asked about their criminal history. Currently 34 states and the District of Columbia have enacted some form of the regulation.
